Robert S. Berger serves as the Building Commissioner and Zoning Enforcement Officer for the Town of Hudson, Massachusetts. He brings more than 30 years of experience in the construction industry and over two decades of municipal code enforcement and building department administration.
Prior to joining the Town of Hudson, Robert served as the Building Commissioner for the Town of Grafton, Massachusetts, where he led the department for more than 20 years. Throughout his career, he has worked extensively with building codes, zoning enforcement, accessibility compliance, permitting systems, inspections, and public safety initiatives.
Robert is the founder and Chair of the MetroWest Building Officials Association (MWBOA), a regional professional organization dedicated to advancing education, training, and collaboration among building officials and code professionals throughout Massachusetts. Under his leadership, the organization has expanded its educational programming and strengthened professional development opportunities for municipal officials.
A strong advocate for continuing education and professional excellence, Robert has been actively involved in code development, municipal operations, and technology initiatives that improve permitting and inspection processes. He is recognized throughout the region for his practical approach to code administration, commitment to public service, and dedication to mentoring the next generation of code officials.
